A PRAYER FOR LENT
Let us pray:
God of our deepest selves,
as we walk with Jesus in the wilderness,
as we face our fears and doubts,
as we leave behind all that has weighed us down,
may we tread with lightened step,
through the forty days of Lent,
knowing that we are dust,
and to dust we shall return,
but will come to Easter filled with joy,
knowing that we are loved
and meant for life with you for ever.
Amen

ECO TIPs FOR FEBRUARY & MARCH 💚
(Taken from A Rocha UK’s Easy Eco Tips)
Make ‘enjoying nature’ your priority. From bird watching, to writing about or drawing something that inspires you in nature, growing your own fruit or veg or visiting an area of outstanding natural beauty in the UK – be sure to fall in love with nature in a new way this year.
Go Green(er) for Lent. The weeks leading up to Easter are a great time to start or give something up that benefits nature and helps address climate change. Is there a change you can make to better care for creation and improve our lives and the lives of others through healthy, eco-friendly and sustainable living?
Celebrate Spring! Make sure you’re giving yourself quality time enjoying creation: smelling the blossom, tapping catkins, copying bird song, finding a footprint or identifying spring flowers with the Pl@ntNet app. Nature can boost our happiness so take time to observe nature in your gardens, on your balconies, and in your local green spaces.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DEADLINE FOR AN ITEM TO BE INCLUDED IN THE APRIL EDITION OF QUINTET NEWS WILL BE FRIDAY 14TH MARCH 2025

THE BEESTON REGIS CHARITIES OF EDMUND HOOKE AND UNKNOWN DONOR
The Charities were founded 300 years ago by Edmund Hooke, a wealthy wool merchant, to help those in need living in Beeston Regis or within the ancient parish of Beeston Regis (which stretched to Beeston Road in the west).
So, if you or your family living with you, are in need of financial assistance the Charities may be able to help.
Grants may be made for a variety of needs such as provision or repair of necessary equipment, unexpected expenses associated with illness or bereavement and the like, including costs of visiting loved ones in hospital.
Unless due to sudden and unforeseen problems, the Trustees are not able to make grants to clear existing general debts such as Council Tax etc. However, in these uncertain times we are all facing different financial issues and we might be able to help, so please do not hesitate to ask.
All enquiries will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
In the first instance contact the Parish Clerk, Peter Bullimore, 24 Beech Avenue, Sheringham NR26 8NS or call him on 01263 822864 or email: [email protected]
ALL SAINT’S, BEESTON REGIS – FINANCES
A message from Martin Braybrook, Treasurer, Beeston Regis
“In the ‘Quintet News’ for the past two or three months we have all been asked to pray “For an increase in the financial giving to our Benefice churches”.
We appreciate that, at the moment, times are tough for many people, especially with the abolition of the winter fuel allowance but if you are able to review the amount you contribute to our Church on a regular basis it would be much appreciated
In the past we have had an annual “Gift Week” to coincide with our patronal festival – All Saints Day – at the end of the month but this year, if possible, we would encourage as many friends as possible to help in one of four ways--
As you probably know if you are a tax payer we can reclaim “Gift Aid” of 25% on your donation which helps considerably.
Account Number: 10162116
Thank you for reading this.”
If you are inspired by this article and would like to support one of the other churches in the Benefice, then please speak to the Treasurers – Michael Freeman for the Runtons or Rosemary Large for Gresham and Aylmerton – who will be able to provide you with the relevant bank details!!
