On Tuesday 9th April, Bishop Graham is visiting our Deanery for a Deanery Pilgrimage.
As part of the visit Bishop Graham will be walking between a few of the churches in the Deanery and people are invited, and warmly welcomed, to join the walk.
The walk will include walking from Felbrigg to Aylmerton Church where Bishop Graham will stop to meet members of the church community.
If you would like to accompany Bishop Graham on this part of the walk, then please arrive at Felbrigg for approximately 4.15pm.
If you would like to meet and greet Bishop Graham on his arrival at Aylmerton Church, then please be there by approximately 5.00pm.
A simple service of Evening Prayer will be held at Holy Trinity Church, West Runton at 6.30pm followed by an opportunity to meet and speak with Bishop Graham.
We hope that as many people as possible from across the Deanery and Benefice will be able to attend.
If there are any amendments to this programme then I will publish the details on the Benefice website, and send out details in an e-mail.
In the meantime, please make a note of the date on your calendar or in your diary! We hope that as many of you as possible can come along and greet Bishop Graham.

WALSINGHAM CELL OF
OUR LADY AND HOLY TRINITY
The next meeting of the Walsingham Cell of Our Lady and Holy Trinity is on Thursday 4th April when Fr David Paskins will be leading us in the Stations of the Resurrection.
On Thursday 2nd May we look forward to welcoming Fr Gary Gould as our speaker.
Both meetings will be held at Holy Trinity Church, West Runton at the later time of 7.00pm.
Please join us for our meetings and services; refreshments are served at the end.
Pilgrimage: From 1st to 3rd October, we are arranging a mid-week pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady at Walsingham. The pilgrimage starts on Tuesday afternoon and finishes after lunch on the Thursday. There is also an option to just join us for a day pilgrimage on the Wednesday. Although October seems a long time away the pilgrimages are very popular, so if you are interested in joining us, or would like further details, please contact Ali Wharton by email aliwharton@icloud.com or mobile 07880 776720.
ANNUNCIATION OF OUR LORD
TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
The Feast of the Annunciation is usually held on 25th March, but it is moved when the date falls during Holy Week hence why it is being celebrated with a Service of Holy Communion on Monday 8th April at 10.00am at Holy Trinty Church, West Runton.
The Feast of the Annunciation marks the visit of the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary, during which he told her that she would be the mother of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. More importantly, since it occurs 9 months before the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day, the Annunciation marks the actual incarnation of Jesus Christ – the moment that Jesus was conceived and that the Son of God became the son of the Virgin.

ECO CHURCH @ BEESTON REGIS 💚
Last month we told you about how All Saints Church in Beeston Regis had signed up to becoming an Eco Church and how, on embarking on this journey, it aims to learn from other Parishes who already have environmentally sustainable practices and hopes that its own work will bring wider benefits to the Benefice as a whole.
The Eco Church framework has 5 key areas for a church to show it is embedding creation care: Worship & Teaching, Buildings, Land, Community & Global Engagement plus Lifestyle.
In October 2022, Bishop Graham wrote:
“As followers of Christ from around the globe, we share a common call to care for creation. We are co-creatures, and part of all that God has made. Our wellbeing is interwoven with the wellbeing of the Earth.....we have an opportunity to take stock about how we safeguard our common home and all beings who share it.....Choosing to weave creation care through our prayer and action helps us to listen to God, as well as the voices of those made in God’s image who are silenced.”
As Beeston Regis begins to take small steps on the Eco Church journey, it will be able to draw on the vast and diverse practical experiences of those who have gone before. It plans to get a group together in the local community to ascertain common interests, areas of specialism and discuss how to make Eco Church work in our context.
If you would like to know more then please contact Amanda Wooster, Eco Church Coordinator for All Saints, Beeston Regis on jawooster20@gmail.com
ECO TIP FOR APRIL 💚 (Taken from A Rocha UK’s Easy Eco Tips 2024 Calendar)
Fit more active travel into your day and daily routine. Re-evaluate your journeys: explore walking or cycling options, or modify your route to include some form of active travel, i.e. disembark a stop early and complete the remaining part of your journey on foot, indulge in a leisurely stroll, or opt for a bike ride along a cyclist-friendly route. Consider connecting with your local Ramblers or cycling group for shared experiences. Use the extra steps or the changed travel arrangements as a prompt to pray for God’s creation, nature’s preservation and the reduction in fossil fuel usage.
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
Our Quintet Benefice’s small Open the Book Team has been greatly enjoying its delivery of assemblies to Gresham Village School twice every term. It has been rewarding to witness our relationship with the Headteacher and his staff community developing; and delightful that the children are so passionate and fervent in their contribution to our storytelling.
This short and lively act of collective worship, with a script from the Bible Society, Bible stories from the Lion Storyteller Bible and quiet time for reflection and all-inclusive prayer, is taken into schools all over the UK, and other countries as well, by groups of people from local churches.
This month we say “Goodbye” and “Thank You” to John Hodgkinson, a founding team member from Cromer church who was also a past Headteacher at the school. We are grateful for his helping us find our feet and boosting our numbers but now understand he has the Cromer schools to attend to.
Therefore, we are praying for and seeking new volunteer storytellers, linked to any of our 5 churches, to join our Quintet Benefice Open the Book team as soon as possible. A DBS check will be required for safeguarding adherence and this will be organised and funded by the Benefice for you.
The time commitment would be one 90 minute meeting per term for planning and praying for that term’s assemblies plus 2 short afternoon assemblies per term with a rehearsal lasting 90 mins beforehand on each occasion. Transport to Sheringham and Gresham can be arranged for those without it.
There are no pre-requisites in terms of qualifications or experience. A passion for, and commitment to, sharing God’s word with children is essential. Training is available to you, in person or online. We seek to embrace diversity and strive to be inclusive so do not be hindered from expressing interest if you have any disability. If you would be curious to know more, perhaps without committing yourself at this stage, do approach Amanda Wooster, Co-ordinator of Open the Book for the Quintet Benefice on jawooster20@gmail.com or 07985 291930. You are also welcome to come observe us in action at our next assembly to find out more.
